Grace and peace from our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. I thank you for your prayers and the overwhelming support you gave me in Indianapolis. I continue to kindly request for the same as I offer myself for the episcopacy of our great Zion in 2008. Please "REMEMBER ME" when you get to St. Louis My ministry spans over two decades. It started at the age of 16 when I served as missionary/evangelist doing groundbreaking work in planting churches and fellowship groups in parts of my community that had hitherto not been reached with the message of the good news. After ordination to the ministry of word and sacrament, I returned to my old passion of church planting, nurturing and growing, and am delighted that out of these humble efforts 10 new churches have emerged. One of my greatest passions has always been helping build capacity in the church and society to respond to various challenges. This has led me to devote my time to ensure the capacity- building of both clergy and laity, particularly youth and women of the church. Given the resource limitation of the context of my ministry, income generation through stewardship and economic development programmes for the church and the wider community has always been an important aspect of my pastoral work and calling.

CHAN Over and above serving the church, I have also served at various levels in the ecumenical movement, various national and international councils, including among others the United Nations Organization, the Commonwealth, and the World Council of Churches. This has equipped me with experience, built my leadership capacity, and brought insight on some of the trends of thought in our contemporary world that the church is called to bear witness to. For me, the role of the church in the world is always about finding meaning and purpose, engendering hope, and vision for the people of God in the world in which we find ourselves. If elected Bishop of our great Zion, I pledge to be an agent of God’s grace, peace, love, and transforming power amongst His people. I hope, therefore, to help the AME church rise to meet the present-day challenges, including the HIV/AIDS epidemic, as a twenty-first century church that preaches and serves the never-changing Christ. I seek your prayers and support during this time.
Yours in Christ Mpho Moruakgomo Candidate for Episcopal Service 2008
